Wednesday, May 24, 2006 -- Haven't been keeping up with my blogs for the past four weeks. So much has happened. Weather has changed from cool to very warm. We had a rainy spell last week, which lasted until Monday of this week. Several days it rained pretty good. I've been helping out in the kitchen at Celebrate Recovery. Last night was an awesome time at Celebrate Recovery. One of guys in our small group shared an awesome message. He was telling us how important Jesus is in our lives and also for our recovery. Also, maintaining contact with a sponsor and others for support is important.

I've been making progress with family history. Have uploaded many old pictures recently. You can check out my new family history webpages, starting at:
The Peter Whitebird concert is coming up soon! Next, fun day at the park ......

I'm still reading the book, "Thomas Jefferson," by Gene Lisitzky. I'm also reading a new book by Josh McDowell, about the dangers of the Da Vinci Code. I went to several classes at Shelter Cove, which taught about the integrity and reliability of the Bible. We learned about some of the problems with the Da Vinic Code, by Dan Brown.

Here some good links about the Da Vinci Code:

Pastor Rick is preaching from Romans again. We are still in chapter two. You can listen to the sermons here: Big Valley Grace Sermons

Scripture for today: Hebrews 12 , 1) Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2) Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3) Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
Psalm 19, 1) The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. 2) Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. 3) There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.
