Missions Celebration Big Valley Grace -- 2006
Wednesday -Thursday, February 1-2, 2006-- Wednesday: Took Benny to AWANA. He is really excited about building his race car. Dara wants to get a car too. Dara helped out with the Sparkies. So many things have been happening ...... God is good !! Steve may be moving in with us next week, which be a much needed financial blessing. Praise God. Lonnie and Robert, from Celebrate Recovery, bought a birthday cake for Benjamin last week. We shared the cake at Celebrate Recovery. Lonnie bought Benjamin Star Wars Legos, and Robert bought Benjamin a really cool remote control car.
Thursday - God has blessed me with a few extra periods of work here and there, which will help to make up for days I had no job assignments. I'm working from first through eighth periods today at high school. This will be a long day! I need to stop by and seen Kurt after work. His father just had surgery.
Tonight we have to attend a meeting at Dara's school. They are trying to get support for extra laptops for the students.

Currently listening to -- dcTalk, from my iTunes list .....

Scripture for today: Proverbs 4:23, 25-27, "Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you. Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm. Do not swerve to the right or to the left; keep your foot from evil."
Psalm 51:17, "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise."

Stopped by to visit with Kurt after work. His parents were there and one of his sisters. His father has his right foot in a very heavy cast, with a metal rod going through one of his toes, and up through the bone in the foot. He is in lots of pain, but seems to be doing ok. He still sits at his computer. Kurt showed me his backyard, and the goldfish pond that he and his father built. There were about a dozen large goldfish in the pond, with three separate waterfalls. Kurt's dad did all of the rock work by hand.
Kurt's mother has lot of plants, including a large Japnese Maple that cost $400.00. Kurt gave me a bag of stuff for Benjamin and Dara, including a bubble gun. I tried out the bubble gun at Kurt's. Kurt's niece stopped by. Kurt said he would like to go with us to Celebrate Recovery at Shelter Cove on Friday.

Saturday, February 4-7, 2006 -- Saturday: Ben, Dara and daddy visited Paul at the Honor Farm today. Had a good time visiting with Paul. He was in good spirits. Paul was keeping busy attending church and Bible studies almost everyday. Tuesday: Steve came to stay with us for a short time.

Monday, February 13, 2006-- Here is a Valentines Poem I wrote:

From on high You shine,
With the biggest heart.
You’re the lily of the valley,
The rose of Sharon.

Your love is great,
Your love is true.
Your love is deeper
Than the ocean blue.

Precious Jesus,
Come into my heart and shine.
Master, Lord, Savior,
Be my Valentine.

Thursday, February 16, 2006-- Here is another poem I wrote:

Violets in the meadow
bluebells in the woods
daisies in the garden
roses in the vase.

Trees bending in the wind
branches crackling
leaves floating
colors dancing.

Springtime is near
birds are singing
blossoms are blazing
colors are on fire.

The bees are busy
buds are bursting
flowers are popping
springtime is hear!

Scripture for today: Psalm 61:1, 3 -- 1) Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer. 3) For You have been a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy.
Psalm 62:1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8 -- 1) Truly my soul silently waits for God; from Him comes my salvation. 2) He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved. 5) My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him. 6) He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved. 7) In God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. 8) Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before Him.
Psalm 63:1, 3 -- 1) O God, You are my God; early will I seek you; my soul thirsts for You; 3) Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You.

Wednesday-Friday, February 22-24, 2006 -- We've been very busy lately. Last weekend Dara used the pressure cleaner to clean the tents. The cleaner seemed to get the tents pretty clean, so we won't need to throw them away. I used the pressure cleaner to clean off the patio. We are still working on getting things organized so we can get ready for barbeques.
Wednesday: Tonight I'll be attending the open forum regarding social networking and MySpace.com. Benny will be at AWANA. The meeting was very informative and fruitful. There must have been at least 100 adults and about 20-30 kids there! We learned about some of the dangers of social networking, especially MySpace.com, which as become the most popular social networking website, with over 50 million accounts. MySpace.com has been getting more hits than Google.
Last night (Thursday) at Celebrate Recovery Paul asked me if his son Daniel could come over to my place this Saturday to play video games with Benjamin. I told Paul that would be a great idea! So I'll be picking up Daniel this Saturday. Benny is really looking forward to playing with Daniel.
Last night (Thursday) was chip night at Celebrate Recovery. Pastor Scott called out each chip, beginning with less than 30 days sober. I got my 25 year chip! Praise God!! Thomas, our neighbor got his first chip.
Friday -- Benjamin raced his car at the AWANA durby race. His car did pretty good. Made the finish line first and second. He didn't make it to the finals, but that's ok. Dara is helping to catch the cars at the end of the track. After the races, Dara will go to the youth group. They have a special program from 9:00 until 11:00. So Ben and daddy will hang out for a couple hours. Benjamin got a trophy for participation. The top four cars in the final race were all young kids.
